Call for Symposia ANIM 2027

These are the key topics for ANIM 2027:

• Neurocritical care worldwide - resources and standards of care
• Haemorrhagic and ischaemic stroke
• Traumatic spinal cord injury
• Prognostication in neurocritical care
• Metabolism in acute brain injury

Please note that your submitted symposium (90 min) should include the following information:

• Working title
• 3 lectures (25 min each) or 4 lectures (18 min each): Title of the presentations and brief description for each
• 3-4 Speakers: Title, surname, first name, address and e-mail address
• 2 chairs (selected from the speakers): Title, surname, first name, address and e-mail address
• Speaker changes and discussions are estimated with 15 minutes (for 3 talks) or 18 minutes (for 4 talks)

Please note that there will be no reimbursement of costs for speakers and chairpersons from German-speaking countries. In order to promote interprofessionalism and internationality, nurses and therapists as well as foreign speakers will be financially supported. The amount will depend on profession and origin and will be communicated with the announcement of the acceptance of the session.

To ensure that a broad spectrum of opinions is represented within the symposia, we ask you to include an interprofessional team and to represent different institutions and locations so that the number of speakers or chairs in the symposium is limited to two people per location. We would like to achieve more female participation in the programme and have at least one female chair and one female presenter per session. Please bear this in mind when planning your session.

Criteria for evaluating the submitted symposia / presentations:

• Topic
• Interprofessionality
• Internationality
• Originality
• Quality

The ranking is carried out by the programme committee.

You will receive an electronic confirmation upon completion of your submission. If this does not take place, the process has not been properly completed. You are expected to receive the result of the review by the end of March 2026.

The following review results are possible:

• Acceptance without changes
• Alteration with proposed changes
• Combination of your symposium with other symposia 
• Rejection with request for transfer to the abstract system
